PAIS Lab seminar: Distibuted process mining algorithms / Application of artificial neural networks for time series prediction // Ivan Shugurov, Alexandra Shulman
At the session of our seminar, Ivan Shugurov (Bachelor's student at the HSE CS Faculty) delivered a report " Distibuted process mining algorithms" and Alexandra Shulman (Bachelor's student at the HSE CS Faculty) delivered a perort "Application of artificial neural networks for time series prediction".
Topic: Distibuted process mining algorithms
Abstract:
Distributed algorithms are a popular way to solve problems which require significant amount of memory or CPU time. The report will consider why Process Mining tasks may require distributed computing and review the existing algorithms. Moreover, I will provide a brief overview of my Bachelor's thesis, in which it is planned to develop a distributed conformance checking algorithm.
Topic: Application of artificial neural networks for time series prediction
Abstract:
Artificial neural networks (ANN) have been proposed as an alternative to probabilistic models for forecasting time series and become great popular in the last few years. Like the human brain, neural networks are trying to recognise certain patterns in the time series and offer a generalized result based on previous experience. In this report, I will consider the standard architecture of neural networks and then I will describe the neural network model with a time lag, and a neural network model for predicting time series with the explicit seasonal component.
