PAIS Lab seminar: Structural analysis of systems in case of uncertainty / Transformation of event logs for synthesis high-level process models

At the session of our seminar,  Marina Kaleturina (Master's student at the HSE CS Faculty) delivered a report " Structural analysis of systems in case of uncertainty", and Semyon Velichko delivered a report "Transformation of event logs for synthesis high-level process models"

Abstract "Structural analysis of systems in case of uncertainty"

In this report, a basic method for structural analysis of systems or Q-analysis is described as well as problems occurring if input data is not strictly defined. Moreover, a possible solution to these problems through a review of the basic method is proposed.

Abstract "Transformation of event logs for synthesis high-level process models "

Event logs obtained as a result of execution of business processes can be used for construction of the corresponding models of the processes. These models can be used for analysis and process improvement. However, due  to the fact that event logs are produced automatically, they contain a large amount of redundant technical information derived from the corresponding processes. Because of that, models tend to be rather large. Moreover, such models may represent low-level business process operations, which would require more efforts from analysts. In this report, I will show how to convert raw event logs into smaller logs which can be used for extraction of high-level and user-friendly event logs, which are more suitable for process models analysis.
