PAIS Lab seminar: prof. Jose Carmona Vargas

At the PAIS Lab seminar session Jose Carmona Vargas (professor at Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC)) presented two talks on Process mining.

Josep Carmona is an associate professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain), where he obtained his PhD in 2004. His current research interests are formal methods, process mining, concurrent systems and machine learning. In the context of process mining, Josep has focused on the one hand in discovery using several theories (theory of regions, numerical abstract domains, satisfiability), and on the other hand in novel techniques for conformance checking. Recently he has focused on the usage of process mining, either by recommendation or by proposing  scripting environments to automate process mining tasks.

July  4th, 2014 - 15:00 - Kirpichnaya 33, aud. 530

Contributions to process conformance: here some of the research will be presented carried out in the group of prof. Carmona related to conformance (fitness and precision) which has been done in collaboration with the Eindhoven University.

July  8th, 2014 - 15:00 - Kirpichnaya 33, aud. 530

Recommending Process Discovery Algorithms: a recommender system for process discovery that applies advanced machine learning techniques is presented in this talk, together with the corresponding plugin in ProM.
